Moraira villa centre, once
quite small, has grown into a spacious town and isthe hub of the local cosmopolitan society
that buzzes
with life on a day and night basis.
Apart from the old "main street" (c/ Dr
Calatalud), which of closed to traffic on summer and fiesta
evenings, Moraira consists of a several wide, tree lined avenues arranged
around the church square (Plaza de la Iglesia).
There are numerous small bars and
cafeterias and, as darkness falls and night-life takes over, the many
restaurants begin to fill and the Moraira evening strollers appear.
Many of the restaurants
have live entertainment, especially during the summer season and there are
often organised "happenings" in the village.
The Teulada-Moraira town hall
promotes musical, artistic and cultural events both in the Town Hall itself
and in Moraira Village - details of these are available at the Moraira Tourist Information Office.
Moraira has only one disco,
the Costa Sur, which is located strategically away from the built-up
area of Moraira. During the Summer season, almost every night, they provide shows and
spectacles including Miss - Bikini/Topless/Tanga/Wet T-Shirt/Turismo and Mr
- Macho/Legs/Hairy Chest - competitions, Foam Parties, Flamenco Dancers and
Striptease.
Late night "disco"
entertainment in Moraira is also provided at the Saxo Disco
(which has an inside dance floor) and Algas beach Bar and Restaurant ( - in a real holiday
setting, right on the beach).
Both do snack meals and Algas is also
open during the day as a beach bar.
